Melissa is a Public Services Lecturer at Texas A&M University Libraries. She holds degrees in Education and Library Science, both from The University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.

As a former children's librarian and school media coordinator, her professional interests include gamification, children's literature, big tent librarianship, and community collaborations. She believes libraries are the bridge to connect people to the information they need.

In her free time, Melissa likes running, spending time with her family and being a Girl Scout leader.

Lea Susan Engle

Lea Susan Engle is an Assistant Professor, Learning and Outreach Librarian, and Women's and Gender Studies Librarian at Texas A&M University Libraries. She took her first gender studies class during her first year at Denison University and never looked back. Lea graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in Women's Studies and holds an M.S. in Information Studies and an M.A. in Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.

Her professional interests include: first-year experience, creative approaches to library outreach, feminist pedagogy, library service to GLBTQ users, formative assessment, taking risks, and fostering cross-campus collaborations. She works in libraries because they are important and empowering community spaces where all people are welcome to participate in free and equal access to information.

In her spare time Lea enjoys photography; watching college football; spending time outside with her dog, Oliver; and adding to her tally of bands she's seen live (150 and counting).

Chance is a Library Specialist III at Texas A&M University Libraries. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. After spending an exciting year as a first grade teacher, he quickly found his way to working in libraries.

His professional interests include: user experience, library outreach, marketing, infographics, and social media.

When he is let outside the walls of the libraries, he takes the opportunity to enjoy life which includes: long distance walking; photography; spending time with his family, including his sweet dog, Zoey.
